Following the “Seasonal” theme, we’re excited to share interviews with the two creators whose works were selected under the “Anime” category.

The shortlisted works for this theme showcase styles quite different from previous entries, and both creators are making their first appearance as finalists through global voting.

Beyond enjoying their artwork, we invite everyone to explore the stories and thoughts behind their creations through these interviews.

Anime #1
Title: Angel
Creator: aki

1. First, please introduce yourself.
Hello everyone, my name is Aki.

2. When did you start creating? Is there any memorable experience from your creative journey that you can share with us?
During middle and high school, I especially enjoyed watching anime and often stayed up late to follow series. After entering university, I had more free time and began trying my hand at creating some doujin illustrations, though I’m still learning and improving my drawing skills.
One of the most memorable experiences in my creative journey was during university when I joined a doujin circle. I drew illustrations of my favorite anime characters, turned them into doujinshi and other merchandise, and received a lot of positive feedback.

3. Please share the inspiration and process behind your Winter25 submission.
I’ve always liked characters that are cute yet a little cool, so in this creation I tried drawing an adorable little angel.
As for why I chose an angel, it’s probably because I dreamt about it.

4. How can fans who like your work find you?
I’m still a beginner and don’t share my artwork much on platforms. I hope everyone can get to know me better once I’ve improved my skills.

5. Is there anything else you’d like to say to everyone?
To be honest, I’m really surprised to have received so many votes—thank you all! I’ve always loved FPS games and drawing, and I’ll continue working hard to create more cute bishoujo characters!

Anime #2
Title: A Stillness of Snow
Creator: とくちゃ

1. First, please introduce yourself.。
Nice to meet you, my name is とくちゃ.
I’m an illustrator with a passion for gaming.
I look forward to your support!

2. When did you start creating? Is there any memorable experience from your creative journey that you can share with us?
I’ve loved drawing since I was a child and have been surrounded by many creators. During my growth as a student, I was fortunate to receive support from seniors and friends, which allowed me to continuously work on storyboards for videos. It was from that point that I began my activities as an illustrator.
Although I feel my works are not yet true “creations” in the fullest sense, I hope to continue working hard and steadily improve in the future.

3. Please share the inspiration and process behind your Winter25 submission.
I grew up in a snowy region, so the impression of “winter = snow” is very strong for me. I started the concept with the theme of “snow.”

On a deserted night, with snow absorbing the surrounding sounds, there’s an indescribable tranquility. I especially love the sight of snow slowly falling, so I incorporated that scene into the design. Additionally, because I’ve been playing games that often use magic (skills) recently, I added the element of “magic” into the work.

However, I didn’t depict an attacking scene. Instead, I portrayed the character quietly waiting for the right moment, allowing the overall composition to harmonize with the serene atmosphere.

Also, this is a personal preference: rather than emphasizing the character too much, I prefer designs where the character blends into the background and doesn’t stand out excessively, making the artwork more suitable for a mousepad. Originally, the girl’s proportions were smaller, and her outfit colors almost merged with the background. But that made her too inconspicuous. While it reflected my personal taste, I felt it would stray from the “anime” category’s theme, so I adjusted it to the current design.

4. How can fans who like your work find you?
You can find my works on X (Twitter) and foriio.
I’ve also recently started creating merchandise.

5. Is there anything else you’d like to say to everyone?
First of all, I sincerely thank VAXEE and everyone who voted for me.
I’m truly happy to have been selected. Thinking that my design will become part of everyone’s desktop fills me with emotion.

If, when you receive the artwork, you smile and say things like, “So cute! So beautiful! The blue is amazing!”, I would be overjoyed, and it will become the motivation for me to keep creating.

Finally, I hope this opportunity allows more people to get to know me—とくちゃ.
I look forward to your continued support.
