We deeply appreciate every beautiful piece of artwork, as each one represents the time, effort, and passion of its creator.

Before the official release of the Winter25 products, we will be sharing interviews with the creators of the shortlisted works in the “Seasonal,” “Anime,” and “Other” categories.

Through their stories, we hope everyone can gain a deeper understanding of each creator and the inspiration behind their works.

If you enjoy their art, please continue to follow their creative journey, support their work, and encourage them to keep creating.

We begin with interviews from the two creators whose works were selected under the “Seasonal” theme:

Season #1
Title: Frozen Blue
Creator: oyayubi

1. First, please introduce yourself.
I’m おやゆび (Oyayubi).

2. When did you start creating? Is there any memorable experience from your creative journey that you can share with us?
I don’t remember exactly when I started, but I’ve been creating for over five years.
The most memorable experience was participating in VAXEE’s “Summer23” submission event two years ago. Although my work was selected, it didn’t win an award. That sense of regret became my motivation to create even better works afterward.

3. Please share the inspiration and process behind your Winter25 submission.
I really like the design atmosphere of “Summer22” and “Winter22”, so I used them as references and based the color scheme on the cool sky blue tones of winter. At the same time, when I think of “AIM,” sharpness and precision come to mind, which led me to associate it with the element of “ice.” Combining these concepts together resulted in the creation of this piece.

4. How can fans who like your work find you?
You can find me on my X (formerly Twitter) account, where I’ll continue to share various works in the future.

5. Is there anything else you’d like to say to everyone?
Thank you so much to everyone who voted for my work!
I hope you can keep this piece close and enjoy the fun of gaming together!

Season #2
Title: Hoarder
Creator: 猫猫Maomao

1. Hi, MaoMao! First of all, congratulations on your work “Hoarder” being loved once again through online voting in the Winter25 submission event! The color scheme of this piece is quite different from your first submission, “Dig a Hole” in Winter24, presenting a warm autumn atmosphere. Could you share with everyone your inspiration during the creation and how you decided on the theme?
First of all, thank you all for the support. This Winter25 piece continues the central composition style of my Winter24 and Summer25 works, aiming to give users a sense of a “celestial spotlight” when using these mousepads. Since the themes of the previous two works were winter and summer, I intentionally added an autumn-themed piece this time. Autumn is a season of harvest, which naturally led me to think of squirrels storing food. I then decided to depict this charming scene in the artwork, and I hope everyone enjoys it.

2. Did you encounter any bottlenecks during the creation process?
Of course, creating each piece is never completely smooth. While sketching, I had to think carefully about the positioning of the squirrel, and during coloring, I hesitated over which color scheme to choose. I also had to consider how the colors would look in the final print. Going through these challenges taught me a lot, and I believe I’ll be able to handle similar issues more smoothly in future works, resulting in even better visual effects!

3. Will your upcoming creations continue the animal series, or are you thinking of exploring different themes?
The animals are there to better express the seasonal themes. If everyone enjoys the little animals, I’ll continue the animal series at least until the next spring-themed piece. After that, I’m open to exploring other themes, and everyone is welcome to share their ideas with me through my personal social media accounts.

4. Is there any memorable experience from your creative journey that you’d like to share?
The most unforgettable moment was when I completely lost track of the submission deadline and ended up drawing all night, finally submitting my work just ten minutes before the deadline—I almost missed the event entirely! While looking for reference materials for the piece, I watched a lot of squirrel videos, which was really fun. I couldn’t help but wonder, how do squirrels manage to eat all the tens of thousands of acorns they’ve stored over the autumn?

5. Is there anything else you’d like to say to everyone? And how can fans who like your work find you?
I’m very grateful to VAXEE’s submission events for giving me so many opportunities to share my work with everyone. Thank you to each and every one of you who voted for my pieces—I’m really happy to interact with you through social media and would love to hear your thoughts and opinions!
